About This Program
History of the Program
- In 2018 the Borough of Naugatuck began working with Savoy Investigations to locate and identify vehicles primarily housed in the Borough but bearing out of state license plates.
- This program was created to identify and add vehicles to Naugatuck's Grand List, ensuring all residents were paying an equal share of personal property taxes.
How it Works
- Cars with out of state license plates are photographed in the Borough throughout the year
- After multiple captures, the vehicle information is sent to the Naugatuck Assessor, who then sends a notice of Assessment to the vehicle owner
- After the vehicle is added to the Grand List, the vehicle owner will receive a tax bill from the Borough of Naugatuck Tax Collector
